Background
Kilimo Trust - Uganda seeks a consultant to facilitate a one-day training and team-building session that strengthens collaboration, supports efficient management, and improves how cross-country teams work together. The assignment should go beyond a standard team-building event. The training should help identify current teamwork and coordination challenges, propose practical ways to improve collaboration across country teams, support management to work more efficiently, and strengthen cohesion, communication, and trust within the Uganda team and across the wider organisation.
Purpose of the Consultancy
The purpose of the consultancy is to design and facilitate a one-day interactive training session that:
- Strengthens professional working relationships among staff.
- Improves collaboration, trust, and team cohesion.
- Identifies team and management challenges affecting performance.
- Generates practical recommendations for improving the management of cross-country teams.
- Supports management effectiveness, efficiency, and communication.
- Enhances team building in ways that contribute to stronger organisational performance.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be expected to:
- Review the current context and training needs of the Kilimo Trust Uganda team.
- Design a participatory training and team-building programme for a one-day forum.
- Facilitate discussions and exercises that surface key challenges affecting teamwork, coordination, and management efficiency.
- Provide practical tools, approaches, and recommendations for improving collaboration within Uganda and across cross-country teams.
- Deliver a short post-event report summarising key observations, recommendations, and proposed follow-up actions.
Expected Outputs
The consultant will be expected to deliver the following outputs:
- An inception report outlining the consultant's understanding of the assignment, proposed methodology, facilitation approach and agenda.
- A tailored one-day training and team-building programme aligned to Kilimo Trust Uganda’s context and needs.
- Facilitation of the staff forum on 10 July 2026, including practical sessions on teamwork, communication, management efficiency and collaboration across cross-country teams.
- Training materials, tools and exercises used during the session.
- A brief end-of-assignment report summarising the process, key issues identified, recommendations for improvement including proposed follow-up actions to strengthen team cohesion and management. effectiveness.

Consultant Profile

- Ability to design practical, engaging, and results-oriented training sessions.
- Understanding of institutional effectiveness, management systems, and team dynamics.
