Kilimo Trust continues to deepen its commitment to building strong, strategic partnerships across the region to transform agri-food systems. This week, our leadership, led by CEO Dr. Birungi Korutaro, held a high-level meeting with Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Sen. Mutahi Kagwe, at his offices in Nairobi.
Dr. Korutaro was accompanied by Kilimo Trust’s Kenya Country Team Leader, Anthony Mugambi, and Andrew Cheboi, Team Leader for Quality Assurance and Resource Mobilization. Together, they engaged in constructive discussions focused on aligning institutional strengths and working collaboratively—alongside key partners—to tackle urgent challenges in agriculture. These include boosting productivity, strengthening resilience, and responding effectively to the impacts of climate change.
We were also honoured to be joined by Hon. Dr. John Mutunga, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Agriculture and Livestock. His insights and support reinforced the importance of collaboration between development actors and government institutions in shaping sustainable agricultural policies and investments.
At Kilimo Trust, we believe that partnerships with government bodies are not just important—they are essential to achieving lasting impact for farmers, agribusinesses, and food systems across the region.
