The study focuses on assessing cross-border fish trade in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, with a particular emphasis on opportunities for women and youth in MSMEs. It will evaluate public and private investments, trade flows, value chain actors, barriers, governance gaps, and support services while recommending ways to enhance participation, access to finance, and job creation.
The study, conducted in Tanzania as part of the EAC cross-border fish trade assessment, involves contributing Tanzania-specific data, reviewing data collection tools, supervising data collection, analyzing data, and organizing a validation workshop. Deliverables include Tanzania-specific input for the literature review, revised data collection tools, a report on data collection challenges and lessons, analyzed data tables, and a validation workshop report summarizing stakeholder feedback for inclusion in the final study.
