Kilimo Trust is a not-for-profit organization working on agriculture for development across the East Africa community – in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Kilimo Trust received a grant from AGRA to implement a three-year project entitled "Enhancing Access to Markets for Inclusive Agricultural Transformation (EAMIAT)." The project aims to improve the income, food, and nutrition security of MSMEs and farmers by creating sustainable trade opportunities. Implemented by a consortium of four partners, Kilimo Trust focuses on promoting innovative post-harvest handling (PHH) practices to ensure grain quality in the Busoga, Sebei, and Bugisu subregions of Eastern Uganda.
A key component of this initiative is the training of warehouse managers to enhance their professionalism in grain handling, storage, and quality management. Strengthening their capacity is crucial in minimizing post-harvest losses, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with market and food safety regulations, ultimately improving farmers’ access to premium markets.
Objective:
The objective of this assignment is to develop comprehensive training manuals and conduct training on warehouse management of the selected warehouse managers across the three subregions of Busoga, Bugishu, and Sebei. The training materials and sessions should equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage warehouses efficiently and effectively.
Duration:
The assignment is expected to be completed within 3 days of 2025. A detailed timeline should be submitted by the consultant upon contract signing, outlining milestones for each delivery. The successful individual shall be provided with the necessary documents to enable them to execute their assignments.
